Brian Borg in the Indian Himalayas

The short version

Builder. Founder. Quality obsessive. I've spent 15+ years at the intersection of software, people, and the question that matters most: does it actually work?

I started my career writing code — and immediately discovered I had a talent for breaking it. That detour into QA turned into a calling. I loved the puzzle of it: understanding systems deeply enough to find where they'd fail before users did.

In 2009, I founded OnPath Testing with a simple idea: small and mid-sized companies deserve the same quality engineering that enterprises get, without the enterprise price tag or bureaucracy. Today we're a team of 20+ engineers helping companies from scrappy startups to established brands ship software they're confident in.

But I'm not just a QA guy. I'm a builder at heart — whether it's a business, a tool, a team, or a process. I get energized by taking something messy and making it work. I care about craft, about doing things right, and about the people on the other end of the software we ship.

I run things from Boulder, Colorado and in my home in the Indian Himalayas, where I go to recharge. I enjoy speaking in Hindi, Spanish, and some German when I'm traveling about.

Right now I'm deep in the intersection of AI and quality engineering. Teams are shipping AI-generated code faster than ever, and the question everyone's asking is: does it actually work? That's the problem I've spent my whole career solving — and it's never been more relevant.

What I do

OnPath Testing

QA consulting for teams that care about quality but don't want to build a testing department from scratch. Manual testing, automation, performance, security, accessibility — we plug in, adapt to your process, and make your software better. We've been doing this since 2009 and our clients tend to stick around.

AI + Quality Engineering

I'm building tools and frameworks at the intersection of AI and QA — from BDD test generation to agentic testing workflows. If you're trying to figure out how AI fits into your quality process, I've got opinions and I'm happy to share them.

Building & Advising

I've built a global remote company from scratch, navigated the chaos of running a services business, and learned a lot about leadership, operations, and what it takes to keep a culturally and geographically diverse team moving in the same direction. I'm always happy to talk shop with other founders and builders.

The OnPath Way

Our philosophy is simple: integrate consciously, improve continuously, and measure everything. We're not just a vendor — we're a true partner. We adapt to your team, your culture, and your process. Quality is everyone's responsibility, and brute force is never the answer.

What clients say

“OnPath did more than just help test and validate. They designed and implemented test methodologies and pointed out opportunities we weren't aware of. They really created a well-rounded approach as a true partner instead of just a vendor.”

— Craig Roth, Product Manager, ClearCaptions

“Having OnPath as a partner gave me excellent flexibility to surge our testing resources when needed. If you need manual test support, OnPath is a great option to increase your capacity.”

— Tom Steiger, CTO, BioTRUST Nutrition

“OnPath provides a solution that is no more costly than working with an offshore body shop, but delivers much more. The resource they put in place was smart and wrote up good defects.”

— Douglas Knoll, President, CodeRinger

“We failed out of a lot of external vendors before working with OnPath. The model with a US person managing was able to bridge the common logistics problems of outsourcing QA. Brian is super responsive and easy to work with.”

— Allison Reder, COO, PAIRIN

“Brian and his team were readily available to our needs and exceeded expectations.”

— Robert Whent, Founder, WeCam Technologies
